2. This field inspection tour follows the special meeting held on 28 July 2025 in Malaysia, which led to the ceasefire agreement and has since contributed to improved conditions along the border. During this visit, the ASEAN Defence Attaché Observer Group, currently led on an interim basis by the Malaysian Defence Attaché, will carry out its mission over a two-week period. The participation of these partner countries reflects a shared commitment to ensuring the ceasefire’s success and longevity, with the ultimate goal of restoring peace, stability, cooperation, and development for the benefit of the peoples of both nations.
