Cambodia and Yunnan Cooperate to Advance Practical Tourism Development through a Familiarization Visit by Major Yunnan Tourism Enterprises Led by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism
Kunming City: On the morning of August 26, 2025, H.E. HUOT Hak, Minister of Tourism, granted permission for leaders of major tourism enterprises from Yunnan Province, including representatives from leading international travel companies such as Trip.com, led by Mr. MA Zhigang, Head of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, to hold a working meeting and exchange in-depth views and experiences. The discussions focused on strengthening and expanding cooperation in the tourism sector between Cambodia and Yunnan Province of the People’s Republic of China, as well as implementing concrete tourism development plans aimed at boosting the flow of tourists between Cambodia, Yunnan, and international markets to the two destinations.
In this meaningful meeting, both sides agreed to implement practical tourism development plans through the broad promotion of Cambodia’s tourism potential, dissemination of accurate information on safety factors to counter disinformation, and cooperation in organizing a Familiarization Trip (FAM Trip). This FAM Trip will include tourism enterprises, media representatives, investors, and well-known influencers from Yunnan Province, led by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, to visit Cambodia and explore its tourism and investment potential, as well as to hold discussions for establishing cooperation with Cambodian tourism companies in the near future.
