Cambodia: A Small Country with a Small Population but Gaining Widespread Support and Praise
Up until now, Cambodia has continued to value the ceasefire agreements and has respected this truce diligently. The ceasefire has remained in effect and continues to offer significant benefits to both parties (Cambodia and Thailand), particularly contributing to regional security and stability.
Through sincerity, good faith, a peace-loving spirit, and adherence to international law, Cambodia has gained increasing recognition and praise on the international stage. As a small nation in Southeast Asia, Cambodia draws global attention through its active and principled diplomacy, led by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister, and SamdechTecho Hun Sen, President of the Senate, who have placed strong focus on the border dispute with Thailand and have swiftly conveyed Cambodia’s true position to the international community.
Furthermore, the unity of the Cambodian people, both domestically and abroad, including Buddhist monks, has been actively engaged in demonstrating the peace-loving spirit, respect for international law, and order, in which they demand that Thailand respect the ceasefire, cease provocations that lead to conflict, and prevent further escalation of hostilities. These efforts have garnered significant international interest in Cambodia.
The unified voice of Cambodia, expressed by both its leaders and citizens, is clear: Cambodia loves peace, respects international law, and seeks peaceful borders, friendship, cooperation, and development. Cambodia does not desire armed conflict. These steadfast principles and actions have been acknowledged by the international community through diplomatic visits by ambassadors, the Interim Observers Team (IOT), foreign officials, and journalists who have come to Cambodia, witnessed the reality on the ground, and helped convey the truth about Cambodia’s leadership and people to the world.
In short, Cambodia, a small country with a small population, has received widespread support and praise from many countries worldwide. Nonetheless, the mission is not yet complete; we must continue to maintain this strong national unity to firmly support the government and our brave armed forces.
