Phnom Penh, August 5, 2025 — In the daily press briefing on the “Outcome of the Implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement Between Cambodia and Thailand” held this morning, H.E. Pen Bona, Spokesperson of the Royal Government of Cambodia, stated that on August 5, 2025, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of the Kingdom of Cambodia issued a Royal Message granting full authority to Samdech Techo Hun Sen in light of the severe threats and violations against Cambodia’s territorial integrity. The Royal mandate was conferred to facilitate coordination with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in overseeing matters concerning the armed forces, national defence, protection of sovereignty, and the safeguarding of territorial integrity.

H.E. Pen Bona further noted that His Majesty the King expressed profound admiration and commendation for the exceptional bravery and heroism displayed by all Cambodian armed forces who courageously defended the nation on the battlefield in order to protect the homeland, territory, and people. Additionally, His Majesty praised the unity and solidarity of the Cambodian people across the nation, who stood firmly together as a strong national force under the principled leadership of the Royal Government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet.

According to the Government Spokesperson, the Cambodian people feel deeply reassured and encouraged by the joint leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, who have successfully led the nation to prevail across all fronts—including military, diplomatic, political, and legal domains—in defending national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of the Cambodian people.
