Her Excellency LTG Maly Socheata, the Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia:
The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia categorically rejects the unfounded and baseless accusations repeatedly made by the Thai side that Cambodia has deployed drones along the border area between the two countries.
The Ministry of National Defense of Cambodia reaffirms that it has not used or placed any new landmines and remains fully committed to the Ottawa Convention on the Prohibition of Anti-Personnel Mines, to which it is a State Party. These false accusations not only escalate tensions but also significantly undermine mutual trust and confidence.
In this regard, the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia urges Thailand to firmly respect the spirit of the agreement reached by both parties as stipulated in the Agreed Minutes of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) meeting, as well as the Cambodia-Thailand Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting, including the Agreed Minutes of the 1st Special Cambodia-Thailand GBC meeting held recently on September 10, 2025, with consistency and firmness, which include “avoiding the dissemination of false or misleading information, reducing tensions, preventing negative public opinion, and fostering a constructive atmosphere for diplomatic dialogue. This will contribute to fully and effectively implementing the ceasefire agreement and the return to normalcy.”
On this occasion, Cambodia reaffirms its commitment to cooperate with Thailand at all levels in order to promote peace, stability, cooperation, and development for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
