The Royal Government of Cambodia expresses grave concern over the continued violation of its territorial integrity by Thai forces in the An Ses area.
• At 9:09 a.m., Thai troops, accompanied by heavy machinery, initiated unauthorized ground excavation within Cambodian territory. At 9:50 a.m., a Thai military truck delivered materials for trench construction— including tires and pre-fabricated concrete culverts— in front of their post. By 9:53 a.m., Thai forces began digging a trench.
• At 10:55 a.m., another Thai machine was observed clearing land approximately 15 meters behind the Cambodian police station, in close proximity to a Cambodian military position. The vehicle continued placing culverts and tires into the trench. These deliberate actions by the Thai side constitute a serious violation of the ceasefire agreement and a clear infringement on Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Cambodia strongly urges the Thai side to immediately cease all provocative activities and adhere to its obligations under the ceasefire and international law.
• Since the morning of August 5, the Cambodian armed forces have engaged in conversation with the Thai forces, requesting the immediate removal of barbed wire and removed of Thai equipment from Cambodian sovereign territory. Recently, there is no dismantling has taken place, and both sides remain in ongoing discussions.
• Currently, both parties are engaged in ongoing dialogue, and we strongly urge the Thai side to cease all acts of aggression that have heightened tensions and disrupted the process of peaceful resolution. This initiative reflects Cambodia’s commitment to fostering long-term peace and stability in the region.
Cambodia wishes to reaffirm that the An Ses area lies within its national sovereignty and remains under the control of the Cambodian Armed Forces, in accordance with the ceasefire that came into effect at midnight on July 28, 2025. The Cambodian Armed Forces fully support the Royal Government’s commitment to resolving disputes through peaceful means and in accordance with international law. Cambodia is determined to transform its borders with all neighboring countries into zones of peace, friendship, cooperation, and shared development. The Kingdom remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity.
