Keynote Address by H.E. LTG. Maly Socheata, the Ministry of National Defense Spokesperson:
From 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM on 7 August 2025, the situation along the front lines in Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces remains calm and stable. The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces continue to maintain full vigilance and the highest level of caution in carrying out their duties. The Armed Forces remain steadfast in their commitment to upholding and implementing the ceasefire agreement reached on 28 July 2025 in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the ceasefire agreement, which was made possible through the leading efforts of Malaysia, the United States of America, and the People’s Republic of China, who serve as key witnesses to the accord. The ceasefire, widely welcomed by the international community, reflects a shared aspiration for lasting peace and stability in the region.
On the morning of August 7, 2025, His Excellency General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led a senior military delegation of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces to pay a courtesy call on His Excellency Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and current Chair of ASEAN, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya, Malaysia.
In the afternoon of the same day, His Excellency General Tea Seiha will lead the high-ranking military delegation to participate in the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC). Representatives from Malaysia, the United States, and the People’s Republic of China will attend the meeting as observers.
