ភ្នំពេញៈ​ លោក​ បណ្ឌិត​ ហ៊ុន​ ម៉ាណែត​ មានប្រសាសន៍នៅក្នុងហ្វេសប៊ុកលោកយ៉ាងដូច្នេះថាៈ​ សួស្តីមិត្តទាំងអស់គ្នា!

ប៉ុន្មានថ្ងៃនេះមានការជជែក តស៊ូមតិគ្នារវាងបងប្អូនអ្នកគាំទ្រនិងបងប្អូនអ្នកមិនគាំទ្រ ការចូលរួមរបស់ខ្ញុំនៅក្នុងកម្មវិធីព្យុហយាត្រាអបអរសាទរបុណ្យចូលឆ្នាំថ្មីនៅទីក្រុងឡុងប៊ិច សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក តបទៅនឹងការអញ្ជើញរបស់គណៈកម្មាធិការបុរីកម្ពុជា។

មិនសំខាន់ថាបងប្អូនម្ខាងៗមានហេតុផលយ៉ាងណានោះទេ ប៉ុន្តែអ្វីដែលសំខាន់ គឺវាបង្ហាញអោយឃើញនូវការបែកបាក់សាមគ្គីរវាងខ្មែរនិងខ្មែរ ក្នុងពេលមួយដែលយើងគួររួបរួមគ្នា មិនប្រកាន់គ្នាដើម្បីធ្វើការរួមគ្នាលើកស្ទួយជាតិរបស់យើង តាមរយៈការរួមគ្នាបង្ហាញអំពីវប្បធម៌និងអរិយធម៌ដ៍ឧត្តុងឧត្តមរបស់ខ្មែរយើង អោយប្រជាជនអាមេរិកាំងនិងជាតិសាសន៍ដ៍ទៃទៀតបានឃើញ។

ខ្ញុំសម្រេចចិត្តទទួលយល់ព្រមចូលរួមក្នុងពិធីនេះតាមការអញ្ជើញរបស់គណៈកម្មាធិការបុរីកម្ពុជា គឺដើម្បីបង្ហាញការគាំទ្រយ៉ាងពេញទំហឹងរបស់ខ្ញុំចំពោះគោលគំនិតដ៍ល្អរបស់គណៈកម្មាធិការ ដែលចង់ឃើញខ្មែររួបរួមគ្នា ដោយមិនប្រកាន់ទីកន្លែងរស់នៅ (នៅអាមេរិក នៅស្រុកខ្មែរ ឬណោប្រទេសណាទេ) និន្នាការនយោបាយ សាសនា ដើម្បីលើកស្ទួយកិត្តិយសជាតិខ្មែរនៅលើឆាកអន្តរជាតិក្នុងឱកាសដ៍ពិសេសនេះ។

ដូច្នេះខ្ញុំសង្ឃឹមថា ការខ្វែងគំនិតរវាងបងប្អូនជនរួមជាតិទាំងអស់ទាក់ទងប្រធានបទនេះនឹងអាចត្រូវបញ្ចប់ ហើយជំនួសវិញដោយការចូលរួមមតិយោបល់ថាតើធ្វើយ៉ាងណាអោយយើងអាចទាញយកផលចំណេញពីកម្មវិធីនេះ ដើម្បីផ្សពផ្សាយពីការរីកចំរើនរបស់ប្រទេសរបស់យើង ពីវប្បធម៌និងអរិយធម៌ខ្មែរយើងអោយជនជាតិបរទេសបានដឹងនិងបានយល់។

ខ្ញុំក៍សូមអោយ គណៈកម្មាធិការបុរីកម្ពុជា មេត្តាពិចារណាក្នុងការអញ្ជើញថ្នាក់ដឹកនាំរបស់គណៈបក្សសង្គ្រោះជាតិ ចូលរួមជាមួយគ្នាក្នុងឱកាសចូលឆ្នាំថ្មី ប្រពៃណីជាតិដ៍ថ្លៃថ្លារបស់យើងនេះ ដើម្បីបង្ហាញពីសាមគ្គីភាពរវាងគ្នានិងគ្នាក្នុងនាមមហាគ្រួសារខ្មែរតែមួយ។

Dear Friends, within the past couple of days, my planned participation to the Khmer New Year Parade in Long Beach, as invited by Cambodia Town, has become a hot topic for debates between our Khmer compatriots both for and against the visit. Those who oppose do so because of the suspicion that I will use this event to do political campaign for the CPP, while those who support feel that there should be more toleration and unity among Khmer people.

Whatever the reason each side has, the sad news is that this shows a division among Khmer people in the very time that we do not need. It is the time that we, as Khmers, should be united and leave all our political differences aside to come together to celebrate our national New Year and to show other nationalities about our rich heritage and culture.
Instead of debating which Khmer group(s) should be allowed to attend and who should be barred, we should be sitting together to discuss how we can plan this event well; so that we can take full advantage of this golden opportunity to show the World about our Khmer unity and pride as a nation. After all, if I am not wrong, Americans and even

other nationalities are also invited to take part at the Parade should they wish to. So why ok for these Khmers and not ok for those Khmers to join?
In a democratic society, people have the rights to say or do anything they want to, as long as they do not fall outside the boundary of law and do not infringe on other people’s rights. I agree that there are different views among us, with regards to politics or some other matters.

But when it comes to promoting our Khmer nation or our motherland to the world, I hope that all Khmers can put aside their differences and come to work together to promote our country and culture, as what the Parade is intended to do.

Cambodia Town has initiated this event in 2005 and has made it an annual event since. The main purpose is to mobilize all Khmer people regardless of where they live (in US, Cambodia or in other countries), their political affiliations, religious beliefs or backgrounds to come together and to be united as Khmers in order to promote our country and people to the world — through the eyes of American and foreign nationalities who will see the Parade, by giving them a chance to see the display of our rich Khmer culture and tradition. (Noted: Past invitees to join the Parade include people from the government, NGOs, private sector, politician, including HE Kem Sokha in 2010).

My decision to accept the invitation to join this Parade is to show that I fully support and appreciate Cambodia Town’s honorable cause, as well as their efforts to see Khmer unity for the promotion of Khmer culture and pride to the World during our Khmer New Year time.

I do hope that our compatriots from both sides of the arguments can move pass our differences on this topic and, instead, go on to compete with each other on who would give better idea(s) on how we can make this a successful event together as Khmers.
I would like also to ask Cambodia Town to consider invite leadership of the CNRP to join this parade also, so that we can achieve our ultimate objective of Khmer unity across political boundaries for our common goal of promoting our Mother Land during this Khmer New Year, even when we are in a land far away from home.
